Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are your fees?
Each session is $375, paid privately without insurance billing.
2. Do you accept insurance?
I don’t take insurance directly; clients pay out-of-network. Many receive partial reimbursement through their plan’s out-of-network benefits, and I’m happy to provide a superbill to support that.
3. Can I use my out-of-network benefits?
Possibly, and it’s worth checking. Many PPO plans reimburse a portion of each session — sometimes a significant one. After each session I provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) you submit to your insurer for reimbursement. How much you get back depends on your plan, so the best step is to call the number on your insurance card and ask what it reimburses for out-of-network outpatient mental health, and whether you have an out-of-network deductible.
4. How long are sessions?
Sessions are 45 minutes. If you’d like longer sessions, we can arrange that — additional time is prorated at the standard session rate.
5. How often will we meet?
Most clients meet weekly — it builds momentum and trust early. If additional support is needed, we can discuss that as well.
6. How do I schedule?
You can book a free 15-minute consultation through my online scheduling link, to see whether we’re a good fit.
7. What issues do you work with?
Anxiety, OCD, relationship issues, and life transitions — particularly for people who are high-functioning on the outside and quietly overwhelmed on the inside.
8. Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you bring to our sessions stays between us, within the standard legal and ethical limits I’ll walk you through at the start. Discretion is a foundation of the work, not an afterthought — which matters especially for people whose lives don’t leave much room to be openly struggling.
9. Do you offer couples therapy?
Yes — using the Gottman Method, for partners who want more than surface-level fixes.
10. Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, in person and virtually. I’m licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
11. What happens in the first session?
Mostly, we get oriented. For individuals, I work from a set of questions I move through to get a real picture of what’s going on — but it stays a conversation, not an interrogation; the structure just makes sure we don’t miss anything that matters. For couples, I’ll ask each of you a series of questions and give you both the space to answer, so I hear each partner’s side clearly and neither perspective gets lost. Either way, there’s no pressure to have it all figured out — sorting out what’s actually going on is part of the work. You’ll leave with a sense of how I think and whether it feels like a fit.
